Jobs Warehouse

Today I went with Blake and Hugh to the old Jobs Warehouse, an old fabric shop on Bourke Street that sold fabrics for many years. The fabric warehouse has since closed down and the old fabrics are now being sold at low prices on a word of mouth basis and are distributed by the care taker of the building who is a lively older woman. Blake said there is a rumor that it is going to be refurbished and turned into a Comme store, but that's just a rumor. The building was first established in 1848 and is one of the oldest gold rush buildings left standing.

I didn't end up buying anything because the smell and dust was too potent but no one else seemed to be bothered by it. I took these photos of it before it closes for good this Sunday after it is opened up to RMIT fashion students to seize the remaining rolls of aged material.
