Jobs Warehouse
Today I went with Blake and Hugh to the old Jobs Warehouse, an old fabric shop on Bourke Street that sold fabrics for many years. The fabric warehouse has since closed down and the old fabrics are now being sold at low prices on a word of mouth basis and are distributed by the care taker of the building who is a lively older woman. Blake said there is a rumor that it is going to be refurbished and turned into a Comme store, but that's just a rumor. The building was first established in 1848 and is one of the oldest gold rush buildings left standing.
I didn't end up buying anything because the smell and dust was too potent but no one else seemed to be bothered by it. I took these photos of it before it closes for good this Sunday after it is opened up to RMIT fashion students to seize the remaining rolls of aged material.
Opposit Ends (backward selfie)
Today while walking I decided that I wanted to take a photo of my self to look at the bun knot I had tied into my hair, I never do that style and I wanted to see if it suited me. However I accidentally forgot to direct the iPhones camera inward into selfie mode and took these 4 photos of the grey sky a tree and the top of a house.

Living a Facade

Last Sunday I woke up early and rook a walk. On lygon Street I noticed, perhaps feeling more perceptive in morning light, a facade been kept up by developers who gutted the inside of the building to implant apartments. A facade is either kept secure be purse it is heritage listed or so the developers can have their new complex appear vintage.

c3 show 29th of oct 2014
My show at c3 opens this month. For the show I am presenting some photos that I had developed of film I found in a second hand camera. The film is a bit old but you can make out some clear images of 3 older women and a dog, as well as houses and plants.
Poem I wrote in art school
Yesterday I decided to look for a bunch of my old 'notes' on my iPhone and found a few old poems and short story, this is one of them.
They walk on the tram, they are wearing jelly Sandals with spotted Kmart socks and high wasted denim short shorts and a tye dyed t-shirt! They have blue head phones they are looking at their iPhone screen texting someone, they're texting so fast, after texting (someone) they then lock and unlock their phone 4 times before opening twitter they receive a text and use their thumb to switch apps to view the text they reply to the text than lock their phone they lock and than unlock several times before opening iTunes, they look through their iTunes artist list through all the artists they have, they scroll up and down so fast they choose Gina X Performance and than listen to black sheep for 7 seconds before locking the phone again they pause the song and than scroll up and down the list of artists in their iTunes than the songs, they set the iPhone to shuffle all songs on their iTunes first Geneva Jacuzzi plays than Sade than Kate Bush all of their music on their phone is performed by women! They lock their phone screen when 'I Care' plays they listen to 'I Care by Beyoncé until the guitar solo they unlock their phone they open the twitter app they start to tweet the name of a popular female artist they press the home bottom they receive a call from their mother
When I read back on this I can't help but think it must have been about gender and non gender identity or something self reflexive or perhaps the autonomy that occurs with being in public spaces with your tablet and ones own private experiences.
20 second Light beam
For just the slightest moment at 5:55pm a small light bean entered my room while I was working at my desk (on photobooth >_<) the light sat on my face for just a minute before disapearing from my room.

Cover girl
My friend Dominique Elliot used one of my disposable cameras to take an image of me. I used a Marianne Faithfull record as a prop. I like how it has a Carole King vibe to it. - share house - junk - punk -
Scars
Woke up with 2 scars on my stomach over night, one more red and deep then the other! I don't know what they're from but I did have some intense dreams last night! Maybe I cut my self in my sleep?

Beer and wine
Last night on my way to tcb I left a beer on the seat waiting for my tram because there weren't any bins at stop 28, the next day I come back and someone has left a wine bottle and a flower in it!
SCANNERS
New work I'm making, using scanners from around the city, the scanners have traces and scuff marks from the many times they have been used.
I scanned a self portrait, I didn't like the work all that much but what I had noticed was a hair was in the scanner and was picked up in my image.

Wet kiss
Wet kiss is my solo music act, I took these photo self portraits in the change rooms at Savers. I ended up finding (what I think is) a good dynamic professional mic I can use for my performances, I also feel like the outfit and hair style is very WK and I'm happy about what I bought.
